Getting to Campus

The American Studies office is in the Wheatley Building, 5th floor, room 003. Our graduate courses (unless otherwise indicated) are held in the Wheatley 5th floor Seminar Room (W-5-041)

Campus Map

School Closure: Call 671-287-5000 to see if UMass Boston has been closed for inclement weather. The university administration tries to have a decision by 4:00 pm for evening classes.

Emergency Information: Dial 911 from any inhouse campus phone (beige phones located at each elevator bank) to reach the UMass Campus Police.

From a cell phone, dial 617-287-1212 to reach UMass Campus Police.

On Campus Resources

Eating on Campus:

  • Cafeterias There is a 700 seat Food Court in the Campus Center on the first floor. Also, the Atrium cafe on the UL of the Campus Center is an "Au Bon Pain" type of vendor and is open until 11:00 p.m.

Campus Escort Service: The UMass Public Safety office (campus police) provides free escort service to your car or the shuttle bus stop. Call 7-7799 from an inhouse campus phone (or 617-287-7799 from a cell phone) to request an escort. You do not need to give a reason, simply give your name and location and an officer will meet you. Do try to call before the actual time that you want to leave so you won't have to wait as long.
