Intern posting for the Catchpole Corporation - Wellesley, MA

Job Opening: Public Relations/Research Internship

Requirements: Candidates should be upperclassmen looking for an academic internship in public relations. Ideally, the candidate is working towards a degree in communications, business, public relations, marketing or a related field. Must be available for a minimum of 12 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning mid-September 2008.

Company Description: The Catchpole Corporation is a high-tech public relations firm specializing in speaker program management strategy. Speaker programs are an effective means for companies to stand out as thought-leaders and visionaries among their technology industry peers and business executives. Catchpole's client list includes such innovative companies as AOL, HP, Microsoft, AMD and Motorola.

Job Description: Intern will work with an experienced PR team on projects to gather information on event topic agendas, speaker requirements and new global conferences. Review client press releases on an ongoing basis. Pursue client research on executive speaker activity, topic focus and event participation.

Intern Goals:

· Gain basic knowledge of the IT industry and other vertical (finance, healthcare) industries and how trends within these fields influence conferences world-wide

· Learn about the newest messaging from the most influential IT companies worldwide

· Learn why a speaker program is important for all levels of companies and how this previously underrated PR tactic has become more prominent in companies overall PR program

· Get exposure to agency life and its pace: from dealing with client requests, to working with conference organizers (or other third parties), to handling overall program maintenance

Wage/Salary: $12/hour
