University Services

Health Services provides free medical assistance to students who have bought school insurance, and charge a minimal fee to other students; a small fee is also charged for laboratory work. The Health Center asks that students have a physical before treatment, and will provide one if a student does not have a doctor. (phone: 287-5660)

Mental Health Services provides clinical psychological services, emergency services, crisis intervention, and referral services. (phone: 287-5660)

Career Services offers career counseling and workshops in interviewing techniques. Resource materials regarding doctoral programs are available in the main office. (phone: 287-5500)

Athletics and recreation: The following facilities are available for students and are located in the Clark Athletic Center: a gymnasium, a swimming pool with 1 and 3 meter diving boards, an ice skating rink, exercise rooms, and weight-lifting room. The outdoor facilities include an eight lane track, eight tennis courts, a utility field, and ten mercury sailboats.

The Beacon Fitness Center, located on the first floor of the McCormack Building, is free to fee-paying graduate and undergraduate students. The Beacon Fitness Center offers a variety of aerobics classes, racquetball, squash, wallyball, and exercise equipment including Nautilus, free weights, stair stepping, cycling, Nordic skiing, and an indoor track for running/walking. Seminars are offered on fitness, nutrition, strength training, weight loss, body composition, and exercise technique. The Beacon Fitness Center is open seven days a week. (phone: 287-6789)
