Acceptable grades: B- is the minimum acceptable grade for a course to count towards the American Studies M.A. Students must maintain an average of 3.0 to continue in the program in good standing. Students whose grade point average falls below this level may be terminated from the program. Students are not eligible to graduate without a 3.0 average.
Incompletes: Under compelling circumstances, faculty members may record grades of Incomplete, but an Incomplete is not a student right. It is given at the discretion of the instructor and only after the students and faculty sign an Incomplete Contract Form, which specifies the work outstanding and the date by which it is to be completed. Unless specific alternatives are requested, incompletes not completed within a year are automatically changed into Fs by the Registrar.
